Nemesis found! - Boyeria grafiana - Male
Westfield River, Chester, Hampden County, Massachusetts, USA
August 5, 2018
The last stop of the 2018 NEDSA meeting was a point on the Westfield River near Chester. Our last target species, the Ocellated Darner, had been found here previously. This was a nemesis odonate species for me, one I'd been seeking ever since I'd joined the DSA and started attending their meetings, but never seen. Until this day! Some other NEDSA participants, including Jason Forbes, had already found the species there earlier in the day. When Mike Blust, Valinn Ranelli, and I followed in their footsteps, a few were still there, Mike netted this one, and a female even tried to oviposit in Valinn's leg!
