Identification
Quite variable in appearance, but generally fairly slender flies without elongated antennae. Always with only 1 strong bristle on the katepisternum, and with one or more long apical bristles on the palpi. Arista usually plumose (but pubescent in C. ustulata and C. proboscidea).
