Thanks Peter
You've been busy with all these identifications. It's nice to get these difficult beetles down to species, and adding more to bugguide.
I'll be sending more specimens to you pretty soon.

Specimen in hand
for examination with corresponding good quality dorsal image is the only sure way to go public with these difficult carabid species in my opinion. Tom, thank you again for promoting public awareness and appreciation for the often overlooked tiny ground beetle.

Tachyta parvicornis
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen. New species to both BugGuide and my carabid reference collection. Not visible in photo, but easily separated from other North American Tachyta by its lateralmost elytral stria being entirely well impressed. Thanks Tom.

Peter
I'll add it in with the other one. Thanks!

Tachyta
Secure species identification would require scoping for details. Tom, you might want to throw this one in with the Harpalus specimen you are sending me. Thanks.
