mason bee? - Osmia lignaria
Lake Meyer Park, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA

Size: ~10 mm
This beautiful blue bee looks like a mason bee, but I'm not sure if it can be narrowed down further if it is in the Osmia genus.

Osmia lignaria
Thanks so much for identifying this mason bee as Osmia lignaria, John! I've read a lot about the blue mason bee since it can be an important pollinator for fruit trees in the springtime, so it's nice to know that I finally found one!
