Differences Between The Sexes Of Eastern Tailed Blues - Cupido comyntas - Male Female
Norris City, White County, Illinois, USA
May 5, 2008
The chief difference of Eastern Tailed Blues seems to be that the males are much lighter in overall coloring on the inside of their wings than the females. This side-by-side comparison shows off that very telling feature, with the male on the left and the female on the right.

Both Butterflies were photographed on May 5th, 2008.
