Aprostocetus fidius - female

Aprostocetus fidius - Female
Boynton Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, USA
May 2, 2020
Size: 3mm, including ovipositor
On the 26th of April, 2020 a gall of the midge Taxodiomyia cupressiananassa found on a Taxodium distichum tree in Palm Beach County, Florida was collected and vialed for rearing. On the 2nd of May, 2020 a wasp of the subfamily Tetrastichinae emerged from the gall and is documented here.

The specimen is approximately 3mm long and was photographed using a Canon EOS 7D Mark II with a 1:1 macro lens.

Following submission to iNaturalist (link below), Roger Burks of UC Riverside stated "I'll take a little risk and say it's that--the host record matches, description matches, and it's a known North American species even though previously known from New Mexico."
