Small Dung Beetle Male - Onthophagus nuchicornis - male - female

Small Dung Beetle Male - Onthophagus nuchicornis - Male Female
Puyallup, Pierce County, Washington, USA
May 5, 2008
Here is this male with a female. The male is in the back. Size seems to fluctuate because one female was about 5mm, one I photographed was 9mm and this one is around 7mm. This male is about 9mm. From above I can't distinguish between the sexes, only from the side is the male's horn visible.
