Green caterpillar with brown head - Heterocampa astartoides

Green caterpillar with brown head - Heterocampa astartoides
Corpus Christi (South Texas), United States County, Texas, USA
May 6, 2020
A bird happened to drop this as I accidentally spooked it, and I’m interested to know what it is as I have a small butterfly tent in my home if I wanted to keep it since it seems injured.

Not sure when the second fascicle on Notodontidae
is expected. Heterocampa is in the second half, unfortunately, so we still have to wait.

Did it survive?
Were you able to save this guy? I can't figure out what the host plant is for this species.
