Please see comments about color on the thumbnailed image below. These color differences aren't camera or computer related. I found these and several other hopper within minutes of each other and they all appeared different to the naked eye also. Any ideas if it is a species difference? Possibly age or sex difference? I read on another image here on BugGuide that the color shouldn't vary...


Both the green and red are more pale

Graphocephala versuta
Probably a freshly molted specimen that hasn't "colored up" properly yet.
