Black and yellow unknown bug - Necrophila americana

Size: ~1/2” to 3/4”
Found in afternoon inside my empty, unplanted window box at 4pm. It can turn itself over using its tail. Have never seen before. I’m assuming it’s an adult, but don’t know for sure.
