Condica vecors? - Condica vecors

Condica vecors? - Condica vecors
Pine Brook, Isanti County, Minnesota, USA
July 9, 2006
Size: 25 mm
Found perched head lowermost on petiole of white snakeroot (old Eupatorium rugosum, more recently Ageratina altissima). Prepupal by morning of July 12 (purplish and restless). By evening a parasitoid larva was found near the caterpillar cadaver. A cottony white 5X2 mm oblong cocoon was found the morning of July 13. Unfortunately I didn't keep it for a possible adult. Interestingly, this caterpillar lacks strong dark head markings. Maybe that means my tentative ID is off. Or maybe this is an earlier instar hijacked into apparent pupation by the wasp parasitoid?
I'm hoping someone can offer counsel.

Moved from Condica.

The penultimate instar looks nearly identical to this. Head yellow, but usually completely unmarked. Spiracular stripe partially filled in. Under 25mm though. So most likely a final instar larva whose appearance was unduly influenced by parasitoid.

Thank you, George!
Thank you, George! I didn't name you in my plea for assistance but I had you in mind.
