Thank you! It appears C. lado
Thank you! It appears C. ladon has been split.

Maybe all are the same
Schmidt & Layberry in ZooKeys 2016 #584 state that in Ontario we have Celastrina lucia in the spring and C. neglecta in the summer. Both double brooded.
They also believe a pocket of Celastrina ladon does occur around Long Point. Apparently this species feeds only on Flowering Dogwood Cornus florida.
Also noted on page 142, “Nearly all samples of C. lucia, C. neglecta and C. echo shared an identical DNA barcode.”
The "Final Tree" on DNA at BOLD for ladon, neglecta & lucia are identical.
Kinda leaves ya hangin’

Very interesting...So, C. lad
Very interesting...So, C. ladon is Carolinian then, or at least the Long Point population; certainly no Flowering Dogwood anywhere near Marlborough Swamp or in the Ottawa Valley. Local Celastrina likely have blueberries as a host plant. Interestingly, only males were around yesterday; not one female... perhaps female generally hatch later (I do not know much about ecology of the Lycaenidae, apart from that their larvae are raised by ants).
