Size: ~ 12.5 mm
Extracted from a U/V light trap. Believe this a Carabid of sorts? Confirmation/correction, and further placement would be appreciated.

Metacolpodes buchanani is likely.
If not that, genus Platynus. Gary, you posted "M. buchanani" in 2018. Does that one appear any different from this one? Anyway, this northwestern species is missing from my reference collection of North American Carabidae. Is there a chance you could mail me an example? I could exchange with carabid examples from Wisconsin if you like. Thanks.

Metacolpodes buchanani...
Peter, I've checked my collection of Carabids and it would appear that these are the only two I have. I do believe that they are of different gender to start with and I noted that the thorax is orange on one and metallic green on the other, which wouldn't be unusual in viewing the examples within BugGuide. I wouldn't want to breakup the two I have now, for the above reasons, but will certainly keep an eye out for another one in order to help you out.

thanks for keeping a lookout for another. I wonder if color orange vs green is an intraspecific variation that is either individually fixed or individually temporal (teneral vs mature adult) OR mostly a gender-specific variation? Let's think about that.
