Acrobat Ants popping eggs - Crematogaster

Acrobat Ants popping eggs - Crematogaster
Marlton, Burlington County, New Jersey, USA
May 8, 2008
I saw these two ants near the light at night. At first I thought that they were tendin to these eggs, but as I watched I believe they systematically popped them all ?!?! I assume for food and water or maybe territorial behavior.

Thanks
to both of you for the help. The images aren't that great, but I moved for now due to the interesting behavior. Please feel free to Frass at will.

"Frass at will"? These are very interesting pictures, and not bad at all. Very cool. [Edit: Of course, it's now been over a year and a half since these pics were posted, so this reply was rather unnecessary...]

Glad you liked them
.
