Poecilotettix sanguineus
Looking through guides, and found Poecilotettix sanguineus in Desert Insects & Kin of Southern California by Lynn & Gene Monroe. Looks like a fit. I have photos of another individual showing a red line from head to pronotum, which is apparently distinctive for this species.
