Many of these where flying around in my yard. It appeared that some where laying eggs on the grass. There are no broken yellow bands, although it’s hard to tell because it is dead.

The colours have faded in dea
The colours have faded in death but I think it has complete bands and the markings on tergite seem to meet. Probably E.americanus/pomus … female. Safe in Eupeodes.
