Withalacoochee State Forest, Sumter Co., Polk County, Florida, USA
May 10, 2008
Size: 3 mm
This grub has been removed from the dung ball for the photo and immediately put back in. The black inside his body clearly defines his digestive/excretory system. It has large mandibles depsite its size. The dung was a mix of cow manure and sand. It is moist but not saturated.
