Zebra Longhorn - Typocerus zebra

Zebra Longhorn - Typocerus zebra
American Tobacco Trail south of Scott King Rd., Durham County, North Carolina, USA
May 23, 2005
I found a couple of Zebra Longhorns inside of Sundrops, Oenothera fruticosa, a day-blooming Evening-primrose. They were likely taking pollen, but there was a bit of cool rain, and they seemed to be taking shelter. The effect was very pretty.

This species seems to be the first Flower Longhorn to appear in spring in my area.
