Is the abdomen area white because its gravid?
Are you marking it as female because of the abdomen and, if so, is it large and white because it's gravid?

 
The eyes are spaced apart ->
The eyes are spaced apart -> female (not reliable for all hoverfly groups but works for this one among most others). The large abdomen is indeed likely due to it being gravid.
