globular springtail - Bourletiella hortensis

globular springtail - Bourletiella hortensis
Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York, USA
May 25, 2020
Two of these miniscule springtails found next to a dead ant. An even smaller something crawled up next to it when I took the photo - not sure what kind of hexapod this is, if anyone has a clue to the ID. The smaller critter must have been a quarter millimeter or less, given the already tiny size of the springtail.
Is the springtail Bourletiella hortensis?

Bourletiella hortensis
Indeed, Molly.
Wild guess : that smaller hexapod could be a juvenile Thysanoptera.
