Night-stalking tiger beetle with prey - Omus dejeanii
Cortes Island, Strathcona Regional District, British Columbia, Canada

I think this is Omus dejeanii. It was running quickly down a forest path when I startled it. It dropped its prey (Altica flea beetle?) and froze. I could get close phone photo as a result.
