Ligatus? - Halictus - female

Ligatus? - Halictus - Female
SW Houston, Harris County, Texas, USA
May 27, 2020
Observed on a Sunflower (Helianthus annuus). A Leafcutter Bee flew onto the same flower and perched directly above it. Did it open its jaws in response to the other bee or is this typical when nectaring?
