Blue and red wasp - Cryptus - female

Blue and red wasp - Cryptus - Female
Palms, Los Angeles , Los Angeles County, California, USA
July 15, 2019
This wasp was under a swing in our backyard. She was moving around in short, quick movements and “flicking” her blue iridescent wings to flash color. The wings, as I’ve said, were iridescent blue and the abdomen was a bright red/orange color with the ovipositor clearly visible.

Moved
Moved from Cryptus albitarsis.

This is fairly certainly Cryptus, but Bob Carlson never placed any members of C. albitarsis this far west. With the greatest diversity in the western US, I'd be rather reluctant to take these to species without a specimen in hand.
