Apparently quite common around here! I had not noticed these tiny ants until now, but they are found in open fields with hard packed clay soil and a light layer of sand on top - typical of soccer fields and open parks around here. In these areas they are omnipresent, with nest entrances spaced only inches apart in some cases.
