Anillinus barri - male

Anillinus barri - Male
~3km E of Tellico Plains, Monroe County, Tennessee, USA
May 28, 2020
Collected by digging into a steep wooded slope of broken up slatey rock fragments above the Tellico River. This is only the second time this species has been collected. Can't wait to see what the DNA tell us.

Update-
DNA sequence data place this species in the "steevesi-group", along with juliae, chilhowee, and a few undescribed species from TN and GA.

Very nice preparation of this rare species.
I wonder if three apical setae on right paramare would be a diagnostic character? Body is very small; useful to know ABL.

ABL -
I know, I've been bad about not including body lengths on my Anillinus contributions. I'll add them eventually.

I should note that there were four setae on the tip of the paramere, but one was broken off while handling. You can see the pore where the missing seta was. The setae are longer than average in the genus, which might turn out to be a useful character.

Ah yes -
the telltale additional pore is plainly visible. Nice.
