Geolycosa sp. ? - Hogna coloradensis

Geolycosa sp. ? - Hogna coloradensis
Cottonwood, Yavapai County, Arizona, USA
June 8, 2020
Size: 18mm
This spider bores a 11m+/- dia. hole about 5" straight down in relative fine soft soil in our rural yard. The hole is open at the top, and no Webb lining. The spier peeks over the edge, and quickly retracts to motion. When I dug it out, it was a fast runner and difficult to capture.
There are currently four similar holes, and two more that are about 30mm in dia.
