Intermediate between americana and terminalis

Like americana and unlike terminalis in the following ways:
-humeral spot and spot at base of transverse suture not at all joined
-abdominal segments only yellow at posterior margin of segments and in broad yellow spot beneath haltere

Otherwise like terminalis, and unlike americana in all ways visible in this photo.

"Reminds me of the weird intermediate between Helophilus fasciatus and latifrons we once found on BugGuide. It seems premature to call it a new species without more material." -Even

Similar to https://bugguide.net/node/view/533030, but opposite in that all red areas there are black here.

Except that the red tibia of americana is here yellow as in terminalis

Also worth adding to the above that the scutellum has a pale spot transverse here as in americana versus normal terminalis
