Perplexus nest? - Bombus perplexus - female

Perplexus nest? - Bombus perplexus - Female
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 16, 2008
a while ago i got a worker that i saw coming out of my workshop wall IDed as B. perpexus. i removed the nest(so i can put it in one of my boxes and observe it) but im not certain there was only one nest in there. so i want to make sure this nest matches up with the worker IDed as perplexus.

only the queen is visble in the photo(i had all of the workers in a seperate cage). i hope it is enough to get IDed. i will get better pics of the nest once it gets IDed. there were only 5 workers on the nest by the way

Bombus (Pyrobombus)
probably perplexus (scutum without black hairs) but I can't see dark hairs on the pleura below (usual for perplexus) so it would be good to check specimens to rule out vagans/sandersoni

thanks!
i'll see if i can get some good photos of an individual bee tomorrow. they are asleep right now
