Tiny eggs on tar spot fungus

Tiny eggs on tar spot fungus

I believe this is tar spot fungus (Rhytisma ilicicola), which I found on a winterberry (Ilex verticillata) leaf, but I wonder if anyone has ideas about what would have laid a cluster of tiny yellowish eggs on the fungus.

No city or state
for this one?
