Epiblema otiosana Parasitoid - male

Epiblema otiosana Parasitoid - Male
Karnack, Harrison County, Texas, USA
June 18, 2020
Size: 14mm TL
Not the moth moth I was hoping for emerged the following year around the time the host plant is starting to grow large enough for Epiblema activity. In fact the whole collection of stems has yielded twelve such parasitoids and zero moths thus far. It would seem hiding out in stems is not protection enough. Size in this case was measured from wing tips to antennae tips.
