Mycetophagus confusus - Neotriphyllus confusus

Mycetophagus confusus - Neotriphyllus confusus
rick's morel patch, New Mexico, USA
May 18, 2008
Size: 4.0 mm
Found in kitchen on wild-collected morels. Clearly a gourmet mycetophage!
The color pattern varies so I am posting three. The confused part of M confusus is the punctures on the elytra. Most Mycetophagus have them in lines whereas confusus has them randomly distributed.

pls note new generic placement

Is the county name being withheld
to protect the morel patch? ;-)

yes
Correct! I was being silly, but it is secret info.
