Polydamas Swallowtail - Battus polydamas - female

Polydamas Swallowtail - Battus polydamas - Female
St. Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida, USA
May 12, 2008
I went to sunken gardens recently, and found this guy fluttering around... I couldnt get him to sit still, so I employed a technique that got him to sit still for just long enough to snap a few shots... I pretended like I was changing the battery in my camera, any photographer will tell you, stuff always happens right when your swaping batteries or putting the camera away... It worked...

Polydamas Swallowtail
see here. Appears to be a female laying eggs on Aristolochia vine. Nice shot!
