Fly - Sylvicola

Fly - Sylvicola
Ozark Mountains, Searcy County, Arkansas, USA
May 19, 2008
Attracted to light. Don't know if I was able to get enough detail to ID. If not, by all means frass.

(Edited 5/21/08: Removed incorrect estimation of size.)

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Anisopodidae
Are you sure it's 3mm? Definitely a Sylvicola sp.

Thanks, Matt
I tend to overestimate the size of insects I photograph. I overcompensated toward the small end this time around. Thanks for the ID despite my bogus information. (Marvin)

That's no problem!
They get small, but I thought that might be a little too small :)

Ceratopogonidae?
I wonder if this is a "no-see-um?" May very well be something new for the guide in any event.
