Prickly little thing - a Lynx spider? - Oxyopes

Prickly little thing - a Lynx spider? - Oxyopes
Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, USA
June 28, 2020
This spider wasn't nearly as shy as most other kinds of spiders in my garden (jumping spiders being the other exception.) If I got too close it would dart under the daisy, but it would pop out again fairly quickly. After patiently putting up with me for several minutes it took the unusual action of leaping off the daisy, plummeting two feet to the sidewalk, dashing over and starting to scuttle up my leg! (I waved a hand and it jumped off and disappeared under a daylily.)
