Compare this to the 3 Ontario Omophron species at the Ground Beetles of Canada site. This appears to be a good match for O. americanus, based on the elytral pattern and white edges on the pronotum, but I don't know what the characters to separate the species are.

Definitely O. americanus

Omophron species can often be identified on pattern alone. Thanks to your excellent photos, I can even count the number of elytral striae (another key characteristic)! These are cool critters, and surprisingly speedy! This particular species is perhaps the most common of the 11 species in North America, and is very wide-ranging.
