It has a Catocala / Zale look
we didn't find a good match, but we think you're safe that it's in Catocalinae

Catocala andromedae?
Looks like the Andromeda Underwing to me. There are so many different kinds, it becomes very difficult to be sure. One way for certain though, capture, feed, let it make a cocoon....then see what comes out. Boy, I've got so many jars, and somehow I tend to lose my notes...when things emerge and I think,"this is beautiful, if only I could remember where it came from".....old age.

Thanks for your help.
