Identification

Habitat

Shaded parts of humid forests, near running water. Adults fly through the vegetation and visit flowers of umbellifers and some other plants at forest edge. Larvae have been found in wet, sappy material under moist bark on a living Ulmus, also under bark of water-logged branches of various deciduous trees and in sap runs on oaks & elms.
