Ilooked at this and then also
Ilooked at this and then also noticed Notarctia proxima, Mexican Tiger Moth. It was almost on the Mexican border, so I wonder which. I see both are variable but the latter seems to have more white like this.
Anyone?

Robin says the Grammia has black
sppots on the collar while Notarctia does not. Based on that we would say you are right with Notarctia and we erred when moving this to Grammia. We'll fix that by moving it now to Notarctia!
