flying - Diplazon laetatorius

flying - Diplazon laetatorius
Fort Meade, Anne Arundrel County, Maryland, USA
May 24, 2008
there are a few of these flying around my garden. the neighbor kid kept saying they were bumble bees which they are clearly not. This one landed on my rose bush long enough for me to get a few shots of it. otherwise they seem fairly camera shy.

County?
If you know the county, please add it to the information. It helps because without it it will not show in the map when using the advanced search.
Update: I added the county and also the fact that it is an adult. Please, remember the more complete the information, the more valuable your contribution.
