Aristotelia sp. - Aristotelia arenella

Aristotelia sp. - Aristotelia arenella
Gene Howe WMA, Hemphill County, Texas, USA
May 31, 2020
Documented at MV/UV light station during an iNaturalist bioblitz.

Aristotelia arenella Lee, 2022
This species has now been described in Lee & Brown (2022), Jour. Lepid. Soc., 76 (1): 40-42 (1). I updated the Info page and emailed John VanDyk to convert it to a taxon. I'm waiting for the authors to indicate placement in the genus before giving it a number and adding to MPG.

Lee & Brown 2022
Yes, I was just reading the article last night in my new issue of J. Lep Soc. That Aristotelia looked familiar but I had forgotten that I'd documented the species at Gene Howe WMA. The area has extensive old stabilized dune habitat (now covered with sagebrush and Havard Shin Oak). Also uploaded to iNaturalist.
