Springwater damsel - Argia plana

Springwater damsel - Argia plana
Cienega Creek Preserve, Pima County, Arizona, USA
May 25, 2008
I'm thinking Lavender damsel, Argia hinei, but could be another: fummipennis, tonto. What do the experts think? Would like to get an ID - these guys are tough.

Thanks J&J and
William and Martin. Date on this should be May 25, so I'll edit that.

not A. hinei
but I'm not sure which it is. A. hinei always shows a pale lower part of the thorax, often appering white. I just uploaded a picture of the Male Here, and Female Here.

Thanks Bob -
damsels are about as difficult a group as there is in my opinion because not only are they variable between individuals, but can look very different depending on developmental stage or even temperature.
