Confused
As a purely amateur grassroots-science kinda guy, I may just be confused by the taxonomic structure or some of the terms. This individual was interspersed with what are (to my eye) clearly a male Melissodes spp. (very long antennae; see https://bugguide.net/node/view/1853392 (same location, time) ). . They are very similar, BUT this individual has shorter antenna and fuzzier scopa than 1853392 . . . Still, I understood that this was characteristic dimorphism for female M. communis (shorter ant. and more robust scopa hairs).

Also, Cf., https://bugguide.net/node/view/1853392 (Mellisodes communis (F)). to #2 of 3 of this individual. The green eye and very robust scopa are very similar. (?)

Is there another diagnostic trait that identifies this as something else?
