This is a megachilid, not an apid. However, I'm not closely familiar with Florida bee fauna, so an expert may be able to tell you if this is

Molly, thanks for pointing me to the right quadrant of the bee universe. I'm a novice and dependent on limited "gestalt recognition," but looking at images for this family, I think it could be a Megachile pruina - Hoary Leaf-cutter Bee. Thanks again for sharing your expertise!
