Moth - Arctia virginalis
SE corner of Marble Hot Springs Rd and Dyson Lane , Plumas County, California, USA

Size: 1 inch +/-
I observed a moth that in flight showed a lot of orange and white in the wings and thankfully I was able to locate it in the cattails that it landed in. The obvious orange on the head stands out when at rest and the pattern of the wings at rest is distinctive.
