That would be great if Jay could do this. I will also someday be looking at these microscopically, but I've got to first conquer the learning curve -- not to mention acquire a scope.

I took the above epigyne photo yesterday of a Hentzia specimen. The only drawing I could find that is at all similar is this H. palmarum drawing from 1883: http://salticidae.org/salticid/diagnost/hentzia/palmar83.jpg (Peckham G.W., Peckham E.G.).

Yeah...

that's why I've left so many palmarum/mitrata females at the genus level here. They're like snowflakes; no two are the same. I threw together a quick matrix of the key character states from Richman quite awhile ago, which looked great until I tried to use it against our un-ID'd females.

I have a few of my own but I haven't cut 'em up yet because I didn't have equipment to guarantee good genitalia photographs until a few months ago.
