update
this is something other than
P. delta
, which we now have images for:
my only guess now would be a weird Gyponana and/or something undescribed

for the record
this might be
Planipona delta
. I've been having trouble finding information on it and there are no illustrations I can find, but the description matches fairly well. That species was originally placed in
Gyponana
, but it is now (Freytag 2015) the sole member of the genus
Planipona
. It is an unmarked species (lacking the usual longitudinal stripes on the pronotum of Gyponana) that resembles
G. angulata
but is much more slender. It's found from Texas to Arizona and is apparently quite a common occurrence feeding on Snakeweed. I've seen other potential sightings of your species from Arizona on iNaturalist (photos of poorer quality).

Thanks -- hopefully some collections to come.
Solomon, thanks for the comments. I've mentioned it to a few folks that have gone to Monahans and black-lighted or collected to keep an eye out for this. Hopefully it will be further investigated with some more specimens!
