Melanistic Hyalophora species? - Callosamia promethea

Size: 10 cm
Found dead in a backyard in Guelph, abdomen missing. The lack of white markings make me wonder if it's melanistic or if I'm looking in the wrong catagory of silk moths. Any insight would be appreciated, it's a cool find!
