This is a "seed weevil," which is now lumped with its brethren in the leaf beetle family Chrysomelidae. Very diverse group, the overwhelmingly majority of species breeding in the seeds of legumes.

This is one of the biggest seedbeetles...Caryobruchus gleditsiae. It feeds on cabbage palmetto seeds.
