Syrphid pupa development 5-28-08 - Syrphus

Syrphid pupa development 5-28-08 - Syrphus
Churchville Nature Center, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
May 28, 2008
Size: About 7 mm.
Amazing! At least to me. The puparium has become translucent and you can see the abdominal pattern and almost recognize the genus. I also think that I see one eye.
The other two puparia have developed a darker, richer color instead of becoming translucent. Am I dealing with two different species?
