Size: 2 cm
I think I've narrowed this bumblebee-mimic robber fly down to g. Laphria, but which species? Perched motionless on a cherry tree for ~ 1 min in mid-morning before flying off. I can't match it to photos on this site because it has no hair on the dorsal aspect of its thorax. The pics that are most similar show yellow hair covering that area.
